sorry guys but this x850XT is going to be returned to circuit city tommrow. It just was not worth $450, it doesnt run all that much faster than my 9600xt and just was not the investment for me. I thought everybody said it would be 2x faster than the 9600xt, but i can do almost everything on the 9600xt as I can the x850XT.

I guess I will just wait for a new generation of cards in a few years,

DId you :
1.) Crank up the resolution
2.) Crank up the eyecandy, AA and AF?

Thats wher eyou'll notice the difference.

sure did, everything the x850 can do the 9600xt can do.

1280x1024 with everything up.

you have to play at 1600x1200 or above to see the benefits. If you have 1280x1024, get something like the 6600gt.

In what game? CS?
Having had a 9500, 9600, and 9800, can assure you the 9600 can NOT do what a 9800 or even 9500 can do, let alone compared to an x850.

What game are you playing? LOL
Farcry 1600x1200 4x AA 16xAF on a 9600XT...
CS:S 1600x1200 4x AA 16x AF on a 9600XT...

Ok send the card back

yes I can on both and it plays fine.

No, no you cant play farcry at 1600x1200 4xAA and 16xAF on a 9600xt. I'm sorry.

I already know it's impossible. Just waiting to see how hes going to back it up.

Either you're a noob or just a retard at this type of stuff. A 9600 can NOT render such polygons and frames at 1600x1200 4x AA and 8x AF more than 20 FPS in 95% of the games. That's my experience, I know it won't go over 20 and that is at an ungodly, unplayable FPS. Don't be a dick and deny the facts. You got to be one of the most dumbest guy I ever seen here on Hardforum, saying that 9600 can do as good as X850XT-PE in everything. It can run Half-Life 2 at max 1280x1024, but not even at eye candy.

and the the different between 800x600 and 1600x1200

nothing

and 20 fps is fine to play with,.

I agree there has to be a huge difference. I have an X850XT and it absolutely OWNS even my old 5950U, let alone something like a 9600XT. If you're not seeing a difference then there's something seriously wrong. Set CS:S to max everything (1600 x 1200, 6x AA, 16x AF, max details) and run the stress test. I'd expect the X850XT to be at LEAST 3 times as fast, if not more.

i call it bullshit! i'm sorry.. my 9800XT and X800XT PE is a big difference.. hence 9600XT to X850XT? ya ok.. sure...

well to each his own then. But when next-gen games comes out, don't be surprised when your 9600XT gets raped.

avg FPS on x600 (updated, faster version of 9600) at 1024x768 no AA no AF = 32

http://hardocp.com/article.html?art=NjY0LDEz

So yeah, lets see those 3 FPS at 1600x1200 4xAA 16xAF

And if you cant tella dif between 800x600 and 1600x1200, I don't know what to tell you.

/adit still waiting for a screenshot with fraps running at the posted resolution/aa/af settings.

I think he's screwing with everyone. No one could possibly think that.

you sir, know nothing about performance.

Why don't you run a benchmark on both cards and show us the scores.

here are the screen shots from the 9600xt

These are on the system below with a stock 9600Xt. Everything in game at 1600x1200 and the settings set to the highest with both AA and AF.

3dmark

9600XT

3D Mark 2003=4312
3D Mark 2005=2089

X850XT

3D Mark 2003=12327
3D Mark 2005=5842

actually i have 20/10 vision

so that really cant be to much of a problem.

LOL and you cant see the difference between 11fps to 60 fps? and the detail?

EDIT: but anyways, if you are really doesnt see the difference, by all means send the card back and keep your 9600XT.. that is if you're happy playing games at 11-30 fps..

Guys leave him alone he is just here for attention, there is no point to this thread.

I agree that there is no difference in screenshots since that had to do with the game and not the card. But if you can't see a difference between jerking around at 10fps and actually running around in FarCry at 60fps then you are full of shit. There's no way you could play FarCry at 15fps - you would never hit anything.

Best reply yet.

If you need to return the card, just return the d@mn thing.

Turn around and face the trees and bushes lets see you FPS then

actually those screen shots are taken with the x850xt with everything on max.

see so I guess you guys all agree with me then.

yeah whatever if you really don't like it then just return it. Play your slideshow. Let someone who will appreciate it have it.

so you guys say that i would get under 20 fps on the 9600xt.

but when i post shots of the x850xt and I get the same exact thing.

you think im crazy.

Like i said there is no difference and this is probrolly the biggest watse of money ive ever spent.
