This a good LCD?

Those prices look like good deal. I don't know these monitors but the Viewsonic is speced for 16.7 million colors which would be nice. I just don't know if it's true. I don't think I ever saw a sub $200 with true 16.7 million. Still, for those prices they seem like nice upgrade window if your stuck on an old monitor. Is your old one a CRT or an LCD? LCD's and CRT's measure differently. A 17" LCD is bigger than a 17" CRT monitor with regard to viewig area.
 
I have a 17" lcd so will I see I difference in size or will the widescreen be the same height just a bit wider?
