this 32" tv any good?

so i bought this tv awhile back and i was wondering if it would be good for gaming, mainly fps but some rts. would i see any ghosting or anything like that? i bought a 24" 5ms BenQ awhile back and i didnt like playing on it at all. it never felt quite as quick as my old crt so i eventually put the lcd in the closet and used the crt.

another option would be to just buy another monitor. any suggestions on monitors that are noticeably better than crts?

I used one of these 32" 62U series Sharp's for a while.
I'd say it was "OK" for gaming, but not spectacular. Some ghosting was noticeable, but lag wasn't an issue from what I can recall. Overall the 32" screen size was nice though and this certainly helped with the immersion factor.
The biggest drawback with this screen for me at the time was that Sharp used a round pixel structure to help improve black levels. While it certainly has helped in that regard, it also means that the pixels aren't as tightly packed together, thus the image produced isn't as detailed and sharp looking as other panel types on the market.

I'd say if you have the screen, then by all means try it out.
If you don't like it for gaming, then go grab something else.


PS. You'll likely have to play around with the adjustments on the TV in order to get a decent image coming from your PC.
I recall out of the box the image was absolutely horrible! But with a little tweaking things improved a lot :)
