third party coolers and multi-card setups

I know that with a single card, having a third party cooler really helps with noise and heat (usually). But what about in SLI or Crossfire? I have a Cooler Master Haf 932 and will be using an Antec Kuhler H20 as a cpu cooler, does anyone with a similar setup know if the hot air getting dumped into my case with two non-reference Radeons will be bad for the rest of my system?

Also, do reference coolers take less room? I think that the Frozr III is the same size as a reference cooler but I'm not sure. I don't want to have to take out my Sound Blaster and network card, but if having them in there makes higher temperatures I'll need some solution. Thanks for any help with this.
