Thinking about trying to "mod" this case..

Yes- think of it as an "expirement". Try out new stuff, mess around with it a little. What do you have to lose?

and to think with all this time yer wasting thinking, you could have had a bunch of mods done :tard:

YOU CAN DO IT!, if you have another case whats keeping you from doing it anyways?

actually now that i think of it i have 2 extra cases + ps's.. but the other one is beige.. and i dont want to paint it.

the problem is the only spare comp. parts I have for this case is a p3 800 mhz, gefore 2.. i'd have to buy ram and hd (no big deal).

I don't need another comp. I already have 5 desktops and one laptop. If I do this it will just be for fun. Try and make it as cheap as possible too.

make it the most gaudy looking case evar. With like, 6 different colored ccfls, multi colored LED fans, a strobe light, chrome trim a giant window, and some kinda window etch.

haha, no thanks. would be funny though. i should do that to the beige one :p

There should so totally be a compu-rice contest. The winner would be the tackiest, stupidest, and ugliest case etc... like putting a ton of LED's in a nasty case or something. I would laugh so hard seeing a contest like that :D

(insert n00b and Xaser joke here)

i tried cutting a window today.. apperantly I have know idea what i'm doing (i knew this would be the case too). My dad didn't have any drill bits for metal that i could find.. so i had to use a wood bit and enlarge one of the holes already there on the fan holes in order to get a whole big enough for the jigsaw to fit in. Then I cut a straight line from this hole to the width I want the window to be. Now I can't get it start going in the right direction b/c the blade on the jigsaw doesn't have room to turn 90 degrees. I know if I had a good bit I could just drill a hole there?.. but i don't. Also the jigsaw doesn't seem like it's cutting throught he case all to well. Is there a certain kind of blade I'm supposed to use? The thing didn't cut w/ ease (maybe just b/c i'm not used to it.. maybe it's not supposed to).

here is a picture of the damage that has been done. i started to cut another line to try and hit the same point on the line and make it wider so maybe it could fit, but i think the metal was too flimsy so it bent up a little. I stopped.

Personally I think you're best off with the Jigsaw. I'm not sure what kind of bit to use though, sorry.

I doubt you are going to get a good result from using a nibbler. Most likely it's going to be a really jagged cut that would need a lot of touching up to look good. Touching up which would have to be done with a tool such as a Dremel. Obviously you don't have a dremel, or you would be using it to cut with. I suggest you wait until someone smart posts and tells you what kind of jigsaw blade to get, or drill bit, and then go and use that.

And if you're planning on not shelling out any money for this mod, you're probably going to have to anways. Might as well get something now than screw up the case and realize you should have used something else.

Dremel all the way

I would only use a jigsaw on a more solid case, as the blade going up and down can tear a weak case apart if you don't do it just right

my dad might have a dremel.. idk. i'll look around for it. someone on here told me a jigsaw would be fine.. :(
