Thinking about Rasa kit, but - (800D)

Greetings everyone!

I'll be putting together my new build shortly in my 800D case. An i7 2600k/ASRock Z68/SLI GTX560 TI/16 GB G Skill...

Anyway, I have a corsair H50 in push/pull currently cooling my Q6600, and I will use it temporarily until I figure out what I am going to do to cool this 2600k.

I was looking at the H100 (when it comes out), as it would be very simple to install/no maintenance, and I have the room to do push/pull on it (should be decent on a 240 rad, no?). But, I figure if I am going to be shelling out ~$110 for the H100, the rasa kits aren't much more expensive.

However, my problem is this. In my 800D, I have 5 5.25" bays, which are utilized as follows:

1 for a DVD drive;
1 for a zalman fan controller
3 for one of those HDD/fan cages from my old Antec 900

The obvious solution is to remove the fan cage for the WC res, however, this creates excessive temps and a lack of airflow in my case for my MSI GTX 560 TI cards. I have a fan modded to the back of the fan cage to create a cyclone effect and this helps a TON in providing cool air to the case. So, now, my dilemma is this...where do you guys think I would be able to put the res/pump in my 800D (assuming I utilize the top for the 240 or 360 rad, depending on which kit I'd get)? There is space on the bottom (where the lower fan brings air up into the case), but that would block that air intake.

I can provide a picture of my current setup if that would help anyone. I see a lot of...I think they're called T lines (the cylindrical "reservoir") that seem to fit nicely in the large space between the GPUs and cages in the 800D, but I hear they suffer unique sets of problems...plus, they are not in the Rasa kit.

Thoughts, opinions, suggestions?

How would you mount the Rasa kit in my case given my situation? Or would you simply go push/pull on the H100?

I would simply not use the fan cage since the 800D already has good airflow, get the RASA 360 kit, and watercool the GTX 560's.

It sounds like you don't want to spend much more than $150 or so, is that correct?

If so, that certainly limits your options. If you go with the Rasa kit, I would certainly try to install the pump/res in the drive bays as it is intended. If you have your CPU on water and your rad fans are exhausting air out of the case, then your internal case temps should drop. How hot do your 560s actually get? Is it so warm they crash or just warmer than you would like to see?

The temps on my 560s are actually quite good (though, perhaps it is because I am at home, and ambient is quite low, around 70 F...going to probably be around 76 when I go back to college) - currently idling at 35 C/ 42 C (GPU1 and my CPU get most of the cold air from the fan cage).

I would prefer not spend more than $150, but if I can justify the expense for noticeable increases in performance, I will just wait longer. After running FurMark (multi GPU) for a bit, my GPUs stop increasing in temps at around 67/73C respectively. This doesn't cause any instability, nor do I suppose it's really a problem, though I would like for components in my case to not be much hotter! Of course, there isn't really any game out there that would actually stress my GPUs as much as FurMark would.

The more I think about it, going the with Rasa kit and installing as intended (removing my fan cage) doesn't seem like it would be a big issue. Additionally, if I went push/pull on a 360 rad (you can...do that, no?), I should be exhausting a pretty sizable amount of air - I would think. Noise doesn't bother me too much as I always tend to have music on. I'm pretty comfortable even up to 50 dB to be honest (maybe that's just the tuba player in me speaking!).

Well you certainly wouldn't be able to put your GPUs on water with that budget, but that's fine. Your temps are nowhere near something worth worrying about, either. If you go with a 360 rad for just your CPU you wouldn't need to do push/pull (unless you really want to). Heck, you could have some super-ultra-mega low speed fans on there and still have great temps with that amount of rad real estate.

Hey man, push/pull means I'm going to 5 GHZ!

Right!?

I'll probably end up getting the Rasa kit in the fall when I have more spare change, should be exciting (have never installed LC before).
