i have been looking for a long time for a widescreen monitor, and have been mainly looking at dells, but lately have been seeing a lot of good words about the BenQ FP202W Black 20.1" 8ms Widescreen, and since i value the opinion of folks here at [H] i hought i would ask if anyone here has one, and what you think about it.

Since you are looking at a value 20" screen. Check out the Sceptre Naga III. It is only $25 more at newegg right now, but uses better panel technology. I am pretty happy with mine.

Had one in a few weeks back. The chassis is very unspectacular, but the image quality was pretty good, certainly better than you'd normally expect from a tn-film panel. It might not be the very best choice for, say, high end photo editing. But for everything else, especially games, it's pretty damn nice - so long as you can get it cheaper than monitors like the 2005, which have better chassis, and maybe slightly better IQ in certain areas.

i am not neccessarily looking for a value screen, just dont want to put my arm into a hock shop to get a new monitor, the dells are really expensive, and have backlight problems.

i want a widescreen, perhaps that one is not as good as i have been reading, how about this one:

ViewSonic VX2025WM Black-Silver 20.1"

Search my posts and take a look at the monitor I was looking at. I'm in the same boat as you- except I'm also looking for HD.
