Hi guys, I plan on purchasing a 120/128gb SSD to go along with my 1TB/250GB HDD's
I heard of Intel's SRT, but I have an older AMD asrock Mobo (2010) with a 1055T amd 6-core.
My question is this... I have my 1TB drive split up into 3 drives, one is for my games (have about 300gb of games (4xxgb of free space), one for multimedia/downloads which is about the same, and 75-80gb on the C drive where I install the OS and other programs such as AV/photoshop, etc. Now I currently have 15gb of free space with windows 7 installed and all my programs on C. I was thinking it wouldnt be worth it to split the SSD up and have ~35-40gb of space on a separate drive.
Now what is the best use to ultilize my drives? I have an annoying stuttering when my HDD goes crazy sometimes in multiplayer games like blackops 2 or SC2 (could also be a RAM issue cause I only have 4gb and use 1080p resolution. I have another 8gb on its way now) . Now I want to correct this. I was thinking of using my SSD as my OS boot and maybe put like my steam game folder on there too since its ~ 40gb or would I realize a boost in performance because my older 1tb HDD can solely focus on working on my game and not the OS+AV+other stuff in the background?
Is it worth getting a SSD for that or should I wait and get a much bigger SSD so I can fit a majority of my games on the new SSD and suck it up right now and deal with just using my 1TB HDD for everything?
It is a 7200 rpm 16mb cache HDD (might be 32mb not sure)
Just want your opinion on what my best option is
