thinking about building my own case

i couldn't find much in the sticky thread, unless i missed it, but i kinda want to build my own custom case.

thinking about making an aluminum frame and covering it in wood for a nice look.

any where i can get a general guide on tips and tricks along with dimensions for most internal parts ?

i have messed around some with google sketchup and think i can use this to make the basic design.
 
Check in the worklogs forum, there should be at least a few aluminum framed self-fabricated cases in there you can use for inspiration.
