So i've been researching getting a new machine and i've landed on some hardware, gonna go with a q6600 with a XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 cooler (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233003) and GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3R mobo (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128086) but just looking at the size of the cooler and the northbridge heatsink it got me to thinking whether or not the cooler would fit.

any thoughts from those more experienced than myself?

i have the ep35, with the 92cm xigmatek, works fine. ALl in a antec 900. thought about upgrading to a larger HSF since i dont like how my cpu temmps hover 45-50 ( used to AMD x2 stuff at 30) but thats me,.

actually that poster asked if it would block the ram, i was worried about the other heatsink on the motherboard
