I thought it would be a good idea to ask everyone what's in their cases, and how they like it... I know that there are a lot of people with the latest gear out there, and some with oldschool stuff that they've made work extremely well for many years. What are your setups and what are their strengths and weaknesses, not based on some hypothetical situation, but what you're actually experiencing. I hear so much about "well this PSU/CPU/GPU/ETC.. is crap, or this one is fantastic! But, those opinions are usually form specifications and speculation. Please be specific so we can all know where the bottlenecks are occuring and what products we should and shouldnt be fans of from now on. it seems that recently a lot of quality issues have been popping up from Gigabytes bad VGA cooler on their 6800 to the PNY capacitors falling like christmas snow. We're all the consumers, maybe some designers poking around here, so lets try to avoid subjectivity and side choosing for one brand or another in favor of objective facts about our graphics cards, since there has been so much subjectivity lately with that intel or amd sucksing and geforce thissing and ati thatting.

to find out just how good all thos different cards and accessories for said videocards are out there, what people here really have had success using, what they've had personal experience with that sucks. i've been buying stuff and i just found out that some of it was crap from selected areas on this forum, but if we could consolidate the things that suck and the things that are real gems that we can know we've made a good purchase on into one thread it would be helpful for people out there buying new components. but specifically relating to graphics since this is the graphics part of the forum.

i might have been one of the unlucky people who bought a PNY card and had it fall apart as i took it out of the box, but fortunately i read about it here beforehand. i'm just wondering how much of that sort of thing is going on with componentes that all cost approximately the same amount but give radically different performance and have very differentiated levels of quality, and hoping to sidestep buying a total piece of crap video card, because despite the same gpu core, the cards and components are all different based on manufacturer specification.

Got a PNY 6800NU 128mb. Its great for what i need it to do. AAO, my honor jumped 18 pts in 2 weeks~!!!. Doom3 plays pretty good and looks great. I was a little bit disappointed about the VPU issue, but i don't really need that and it wasn't advertised on my box... So.....whatever. Overall satisfaction is 3.5-4 on a 5 scale.

you must have lucked out based on what i heard about that particular card. anyone know if the rest of PNY's line had the same sort of problems with capacitors?
