T3 was, IMO, a very good game. Not up to par with
T1/2, but still very good.
By today's standards, yes, it was a very good game. But when compared to the first and second game, it was an utter disappointment.

hmmmph. Its gonna suck, we just don't want to say it, its different times now, I don't like being the "eternal Pessimist" but I think we all know the truth in the back of our minds.
Prove me wrong Eidos.
Not sure why there is so much hate on Thief 3. They tried to add some new stuff and it delivered well. Its better then having the same recycled games over and over. Shit when RE4 came out it was praised. No Thief3 love around here. Hopefully 4 adds even more. I cannot wait.

I'm assuming they run fine on XP..?
No, no hate on Thief 3. It was a great game, no doubt. But the problem is that it was part of a trilogy. Thief 1/2 were known as two of the greatest games of all time, and Thief 3, while a good game, did not live up to the other two. Remember, it has a rep to fill. Put on top of that the time and development muscle they had, and it's evident why it is considered a disappointment compared to the other two.
It's utterly impossible for any company to live up to the standards set by Looking Glass. May they rest in peace.![]()
The fact that it's officially named "The4f" does not sit well with me. Are they going to give Garret some trendy new l33t makeover?
It's not officially named Thi4f, though.
The press release has the name written out as "Thief 4". The only place I have seen "Thi4f" is on the website, and that's just a splash image.
