im currently working on modding an old gateway my dad brought home and i started to try to cut out the window with my dremel and i relized 1. the metal is thicker than most cases, and 2. the #420 dremel bits get screwed up/torn up/broken wich i can understand considering the metal. i literally have a cut about 1/8 in long after i think 3 bits.... so agrivating. does anyone know a better tool for the job or does anyone have any suggestions? thanks

well .. what level of detail are you looking for?

If you are just doing some basic cuts, use a jigsaw

Edit: I got beat :)

Try a jigsaw. You're gonna need to drill a starting hole for the bit but that's nothing considering how much faster a jigsaw is than a dremel. Also pust masking take on anywhere that the jigsaw's base is going to touch as it will leave some nasty scratches.

What kind of pattern are you going for. Jigsaw may be your best bet if it is nothing fancy.

i have to go with jigsaws on this one... unless you have a router which is quite expensive

i guess a rotozip would work too
