Warren Spector's new Multiplayer Immersive-Sim 'Thick as Thieves' is no longer PvPvE, moving to a co-op/single-player focus...'Thick as Thieves' was first introduced as a PvPvE multiplayer immersive-sim from OtherSide Entertainment, the studio founded by Looking Glass Studios co-founder Paul Neurath, a creative director who worked on classic titles like System Shock 2 and Thief...along with Warren Spector, the original creator behind the Deus Ex franchise...

Just like that I went from uninterested to interested

"Having said that, there is positive news also: in partnership with our publisher, Megabit, we are working to secure the future of Thick as Thieves for our players. This means that a small team of dedicated people are hard at work to ensure that the game continues to function into the future. This mainly involves putting together a new version of the game that uses Peer to Peer servers for co-op play. The gameplay and flow of your experience will remain virtually identical, but will not need the use of dedicated servers in the cloud. This will allow you to continue playing with your friends when you desire and importantly, solo play will be completely unaffected."

They're adapting the game so that it won't need dedicated servers anymore? What a novel concept...more studios should adopt a similar philosophy.
