These cards are too powerful!

Heh, I want to buy an X800XT, I currently have an AMD 2600XP and a 9800Pro. Is it worth all that money to upgrade? Will my CPU extremely limit the X800XT to the point where it's just a little better then my 9800Pro?

Basically, do I have a good enough CPU to run the X800XT powerhouse, and is upgrading from a 9800Pro worth it or should I stick with it since it does play most new games pretty well?

Any help would be great!

to appreciate the x800xtpe or 6800u you should be looking at 3.0c/amd64 type cpu's for low cpu limitation

I have GF4 Ti4800 and waiting for new 512mb cards to come out ..do the same

(or at least wait for the new NVIDIA pci-x to come out so that you get one 256 card and then buy another one in the future and use SLI to link both and you will have a 512mb video card and maybe with better performance than any 512 mb single card )

a 3.6ghz+ P4 would be equiv.

I have a AMD2800 and had a 9800pro. I just got a 6800GT and it has made a huge difference for me. My 3DMark 03 score doubled and games are running so well at high settings I cant believe it. So yes it is worth it to upgrade at least to a 6800GT anyway. I was thinking about upgrading my CPU but seeing what a boost I have with this card I'm gonna wait.

3DMark03 isn't affected by CPU speed much if at all.
