Link: The AquaTMG radiators use a new technology called Dimple Tube. It creates a vortex which improves the heat transfer rate.

Flat tubes already create a fair amount of restriction and turbulance. These dimples look like they might be somewhat useful as boundary layer disruptors, but at what cost?

Can't say I understand how they would create a vortex. A large dimple or cup could result in an irrotational vortex, but what benefit would this be to heat transfer?

I'm going to call "marketing nonsense", as most things typically are.

I saw no dimpled tube in that link ??
old tech for aluminum, new for brass to my knowledge
(I attempted such at Swiftech but there were no $ to develop, a good idea is worthless w/o development)
Do a Ctrl-F on the page for "turbulator".

Turbulators are common for round tube xchgrs, do not exist for/in flat tubes

get info from mfgrs, not these kinds of articles
a suggestion

Are the "dimples" not turbulators? The fact is, adding things into the coolant stream in order to lower the temp gradient is not new. Maybe TT is the first company to do so for flat tube rads, though... as much as I hate to say it.

EDIT: Perhaps they aren't added because flat tubes suffer less from laminar flow?

Aren't the tubes in heatercores already rippled? The two outside tubes on Boneville cores are rippled at least on the outside edge.

the terms are defined by industry usage
heater cores are "corrugated plate"

look at the Hayden website
and of course you guys can invent your own names for anything too . . . .

It must be hard living in a world where you're smarter than everyone, isn't it? Do everyone a favor and ask your doctor about Prozac. Thanks.

P.S. Learning English would help too.
