78CFM and only 21dBA?????

yeah, right...

can anybody verify this information?
I can.

I have one......and it is NOT 21dBA. Not even close.

TT numbers are not even close, that fan is rather loud if you ask me.

if you are looking for higher CFM and still low DBA look into the Scythe S-Flex fans. I've used all three of em and they are pretty friggin sweet.

i think it's the E model that is right in the middle, it's the sweet spot still get some good airflow in silence

thank you so much!

TT messed that one up a bit :p

i'll get those scythes now... i have friggn huge 120mm fans on my swiftech rad right now... it sounds like a jet engine...

i'm actually not even exaggerating, alex can vouch for me on that...

anyhow, off to svc i go in search of those scythe thingers!! :D

make sure you get the S Flex and not just normal scythe fans, there is a difference.

If you can't find em on SVC, Newegg has em

yeah, dont fall for those thermaltake fans :( i bought 3 LOL. and regret it every moment. expensive PoS

yea... expensive stuff lol

they might be about $15 but nexus and yate fans are about the same...
but these are dead silent and still move a good amount of air...

Thermaltake lies through their teeth. Any numbers they present on their fans are complete fabrication, beyond the voltage and dimensions.

Personally, I've been rather pleased with my Akasa Ambers here. They're dead silent, and their CFM claims are pretty spot on. The 120mm is claimed 18dBA @ 1400RPM, 44CFM - and in open air, it may actually be lower than 18dBA. It certainly moves around 44CFM based on performance in case, as well. But, as expected, weak pressure so it's a bad choice for radiators and the like.
But, if you really want power and quiet, forget Scythe/Yate Loon. Panaflo 1212's are the way to go. L1BX's are unstoppable monstrosities of air movement; about 30dBA open air, much higher pressure than the Scythes, and 69CFM. I'm using one for the rear fan in an unmodified Sonata being controlled by SpeedFan, and the vast majority of the time it's running about 7.2-8.4V and dead silent.

the problem with these quiet fans is that fact that they must be in OPEN AIR in order to achieve thier low CFM. If they are within 2 inches of a grate or Rad they tend to lose power and slow down. I guess that's why some are labled case fans, don't know for sure.

..."forget Scythe/Yate Loon"...
Yea, you got that right!
