Thermaltake X71 top radiator space. 420mm with modification?

I'm considering the X71 and the specs surprisingly say it fits up to a 360mm radiator on top. What exactly is preventing the use of a 420mm and is it a simple mod to make it fit?
My smaller Phanteks Enthoo Luxe has a 420mm on top.
The Thermaltake Core W100 is also in the run, but much more expensive
Update: Decided to get the W100 instead.
