Thermaltake Spark 7+ cooling problem??

I just bought a Thermaltake Spark7+ CPU cooler for my 3.4 P4. My idle temps and load temps are hotter than with my stock Intel cooler. I am also using Arctic Silver 5. What can I do to lower my temps?

From what ive heard, taking off the fan guard on teh spark lowers temps significantly.

Here's some suggestions:

- take the fan guard off (it helped me a bit)
- turn up the fan speed
- reseat it with a new coat of AS5 (you may have put too much or not enough)

I tried takin the fan guard off but when I go to screw the fan back onto the heatsink, the screws hit the fins. Any suggestions?

Anyone know of a good 70 mm fan or larger that would fit this heatsink? This one is too damn loud at full speed and it doesn't even help the temps at full speed.
