In planning for a Core i7 rig, I would really like to keep my Thermaltake Shark case. Right now, I have a MSI 975x Platinum PowerUp along with a C2D E6600, plus a GTX 260 video card. The video card barely fits due to the hard drive cage.

Anyone out there with a Shark case, full length video card and a Core i7 that can comment on whether or not the Shark can accommodate the new motherboard and full length card.

I'm about 99% certain that it can, but wanted to make sure that in terms size, the new i7 motherboards aren't any different than their predecessors.

Thanks.

The i7 motherboards are the same size as existing motherboards... size hasn't really changed since they went from AT to ATX. As for your video card, if it fits already, it'll still fit after the swap. Just check the length of your current board and don't get one that's any longer.

The Shark was made for EATX motherboards, it can easily handle whatever you are going to throw in it.

Wrong, It's for normal ATX motherboard meaning just enough space for shoehorning longest graphics cards in.

As for expansion cards their full/maximum length is about foot so good thing graphics cards are shorter than that because there might be rough awakening to owners of many claiming to be enthusiast cases.

Sorry about the mistake, he is right, I was confused with the Thermaltake Eureka. Looks similar and that was meant for EATX.
