Just wondering if anybody has been able to dig up any more information on this or the 7 in screen that fits into the drivebay that was installed in the unit for computex. Some decent pictures can be found here:

It looks like they've taken a lot of the popular features and combined them together and while I know most people are not Tt fans this case does look promising, especially if it comes with that 7 in display that fits into a drive bay.

Discuss......and please try to keep off the Tt bashing bandwagon.

yeah, it does look like a fragbox/Silverstone SG01 but hard to say about the handle...I don't like it but who am I to judge looks :)
 
If you notice it has silverstone logo on it, most likely a rebranded product sold under thermaltake's name. But I do like how the windows have ventalation in them, and that screen looks kickass if it costs around same price as the SUGO count me in :cool:
 
Nvm... that doesn't have a silverstone logo but silverstone makes the fragbox and lets FalconNW sell it under their name so it must be the same type of deal.
 
I know there is a Tt rep. that lurks around on these boards. I was wondering if he could give any input as to when to expect this case out and if it will come with that monitor in drivebay or if that will have to be a sperate purchase. Also more pictures and / or information on the case would be nice.
 
that def. is a rebranded/modded sugo, thermaltake is even using the same font as the silverstone and color on the front panel. the handle does look a bit on the cheap side, it might be the same as the fragbox, but at least with the frag, it looks more acrylic and slick.
 
Did some more searching on this and came up with a link from anand's, which also gives a little more information about that 7in drivebay lcd screen.

It appears from this article and screenshots that the Tt Lanbox just isn't simple a knock off of a Fragbox like myself, and others, initially thought. If you look at the pictures and compare them you can see there are some key differences. Notice the Lanbox has made room for 2 5in drive bays. Also noticed the large fan intake at the bottom with the mesh grill along with something I can quite define. Its the slit cut out that runs perpindcular with the drive bays. A floppy bay possibly? Based on the pics it seems as teh Lanbox was created with good airlfow in mind. The intake *LOOKS* to be a 92mm intake along with the dual 40's in the back. If you will notice the vents on the sides of teh case along with the breather hole in the top of the case for those of you who have to invert your power supplies with the 120mm fans on them. Now I'm not arguing that the Lanbox isn't made by Silverstone (as it appears to be) but it seems as though Siverstone created a completely revised model of the one they presented to Falcon Northwest.

BTW anand's article states the lcd screen will be around 250 which seems like a GREAT price to me and was the only real thing holding me back from going SFF.

I wasn't talking about similar to the frag box, It looks more inline with the sg01. regardless, I like how it looks, and if that IS indeed a 92, that'd be great. But even if its a 91mm fan, I don't know how much air flow there would be even if you add 2 40mm fans in the back. there are no other fans other than the cpu and the psu, how would you cool the gfx and other pci cards?
 
I'm assuming it would rely on the graphics card cooler to pull in fresh air from the window vents, though we'll have to see whats up when it debuts. It looks as though its going to come out the 20th of July. Outrigger this post wasn't aimed at you but some other people who just simply write it off as a copied clone.
 
I emailed Tt and got a response saying that it usually takes 6-8 weeks for their products to hit U.S. shelves. Before I recieved this response I had read an article stating that the LCD montior featured in both the LanBox and MozartTX (the really BIG case) would be availabe by July 20th. Seeing as how the LCD screen is being offered as an OPTION to both of these cases + a few others that Tt is coming out with and the fact that Tt told me 6-8weeks I believe it is quite certain that we can expect the LanBox to be out before or by July 20th.

that sliding screen looks hot, but how would you fit that screen designed for a 7" drive bay? where would you stick it?
 
Based on the reading of some articles I keep hearing them refer to it as "7in display capable" so I'm guessing that its some sort of altered 5in drive (probably just cut it an extra 2 inches or so.) Although when you look at the pictures it doesn't look any bigger than a regular 5in drive so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I agree that they do make some ugly cases, however, at least they are starting to really push innovation. By innovation I mean presenting us with cases that now come water cooled(armor and kandalf) that allows a 120x2 or 120x3 to be mounted in the front and still be able to use the drive bays (lets not forget this flipout 7in display either.) I'm not a Tt !!!!!! but I have owned some of their products along with many other products and this whole zeal around here that Tt is just complete crap is no more than your average ATI / Nvidia biasm or AMD /INTEL biasm.

You are a tough customer...I think you have only liked one case out of the 5-6 that have been talked about in recent months.

HAHA nah

I love teh new V300, as a matter of fact im puting money together to get a new mAtx setup around one.

The MicroFly/Qpacks i have always been a fan of. Heck ive own a Qpack.

And aside from the price of the QMicro i love its design.

The SG01 i kinda like/hate. Im more neutral on that case.


TTs design which im sure they will have to add another 500 more TT logos on it before they release it, is just ugly.
 
Just figured I'd post an update that I recieved another email from Tt stating that the case would not be out in July as initially thought. This time I emailed a guy that probably everyone on these forums knows who just so happens to run a quite successful mod business and he checked on it and said that his particular store wouldn't be getting the Lanbox until NOVEMBER! What a bust....I was so looking forward to building a SFF over the sumer :(

Thnx for the info. To bad indeed, 'cuz I'm definetly going to get me a mATX-case during, or just after, the summer. Based on the limited info available on the LanBox, it would have been at somewhere on the top of my list. But if it's not there... :(
Well, unless another case pops up somewhere, this leaves me with the choice between the Lian Li PC-V300 and the Silverstone SG01E.

Did you get any word about information being posted on their website?
 
No information was given as to when the Lanbox or the LCD would be supported on their website. I would imagine it would have to be sometime within the next month or 2. Still trying to figure out a hard date for both the Lanbox and LCD.

It says where? Can't find the LanBox on the global Thermaltake site yet. And IF ATX would fit, looking at the pics it would require some major cutting up to accommedate all slots. So if you have any more info, please share :)

Um, they've never said that.

And, if you look at all of the pictures of it, including rear shots of the expansion slots, there's only slots for expansion cards (aka, the 4 slots usually found on mATX boards).
 
I really like the fact that the LanBox has windows, however, I can't seen any case fans anywhere inside the case from those pictures. Hopefully this is still a beta design, and they have yet to implement the fans.

Dunno how I feel about the handle and thermaltake though :p

If you google "Thermaltake Lanbox", and check out some of the sites, there are a fair number of pictures of it showing fans. There's (what appears to be) a spot for two 40mm fans in the rear, what looks like a top 80mm fan near the handle (could be a 60mm though?), and then some sites show pictures of the silver version with the black grill, and what looks like an 80mm fan in the front (there is a fan for sure though in the front of the case).

So be happy, because this case does infact have system fans. :)
 
Did some googling, and according to this site: http://www.barbones.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=21727, the lanbox should have 2 80mm fans. In these pictures I can see the one in the front. Now I just gotta figure out where the other 80mm goes. That top vent looks too big to be for an 80 mm, looks a lot more like a mesh for the psu fan to draw air in from.

Yeah, my only aesthetical problem from the pictures I have seen is that ugly looking handle on top of the lanbox. Hopefully it is just screwed in, and can be removed.

The Aerocube does look very nice indeed, but since it looks like it is based on the x-qpack, it does have the "cube" look, which I am not the biggest fan of. I dig the windows and integrated fan controllers on the Aerocube though.

Right now, my top 3 sff cases I would consider buying are: The SG01e, Aerocube, and Lanbox, in no particular order.

And obviously, they don't know what they're talking about.

I googled "Thermaltake Lanbox", and the very first link provides pictures: techPowerup Computex 2006

Now scroll part way down, and take a look at the rear of the Lanbox: the normal I/O panel, and then you see four expansion slots. It takes mATX boards.

That is *not* a ATX case. It's mATX. The visual evidence is right there.

Edit - and for further support, it's based off the Silverstone Sugo SG-01, which is an mATX case.

Don't even know why anyone would think you could fit a ATX board into a case based of the Sugo 01.
