Ok, I'm trying to figure out a good way to get rid of my "Rat's nest". Most of my wiring is ok, but right there, it's so nasty. Any Idea's would be appreciated, along with any input on other mod's I can do to this type of case, when i got it i wanted something decent I didn't have to mod, but now I regret it b.c i can't really customize it as much as I had hoped. here's some pics to show the mess,,,,

Yeah, so it needs some major work! lol. I've got it running pretty good, now I just need to get it looking that way

I have the same case :D

How well is the psu holding up?

Anyone have any ideas about how to get rid of the rats nest? I see a mirror image with mine.

My psu is the loudest component in the whole case. lol. I've been thinking about getting a new PSU, but I have an Antec full tower case i'm looking at converting to a water cooling solution, so I dunno. You done anything to your lanfire?

try removing all the plastic tubing then place all the extra wires behind the motherboard tray.

Will the XP-120 fit if you turn it around so the overhangy part goes over the memory?

Agreed on the psu ;)

No mods yet though It's a tight squeeze with my zalman 7000b-cu on my Shuttle an35n ultra400. Little under a half inch of clearance from the top of the heatsink to the psu  Can't beat $79.99 at frys for being a display model.. yes you can buy the displays when they phase the old cases out :D

I have the 480watt Pure Power and that fan in the back was loud as sh11. I replaced mine with a Aerocool blue led fan than moves around 24-27cfm. Might want to give that a try before spending the cash for a new PSU.

 I didn't even think about switching the fans out, that's a great idea. hmm, i smell a sunday afternoon project,,,,, I turned my xp-120 everyway i could, the other way hits the capacitors though, and would bend them if i tried mounting it that way, I wasn't to crazy about ruining them, so, I sacraficed dimm 1 instead. lol. I saw one of the posts, it looked like the guy had drilled holes under the mobo, and all the wires were running that way, looked soo clean, but my rats nest up top would still be a problem. If i take my psu apart to replace the fan, I'm gonna try de-looming my wires and hiding them behind the mobo panel. I may even look at running some of those wires that way, but i dunno, lol.

Just be VERY CAREFUL while switching out the fan so you dont get electrocuted.

I'm gonna wait till tomorrow to try that one, when i get home from work. I did a little bit of generator repair when I was over seas witht he Marines so the fan should be no sweat to switch out, but thanks for the warning, most people don't realize what a punch the capacators store up. lol. it can def. get ugly.

OK, I re-did the wires from my psu, and my fan controller, I wasn't aware that my case had a removeable top, so that made it so easy to arrange them. unfortunately the mobo plate runs all the way up, so i'll have to dremel a hole to route my wires, but i'll worry about that one later, here's my new rats nest, lol.

What do you all think? I need to re-do my rear usb cord, it's just so awkward, i couldn't get it to look right.

move the rear USB to the bottom. i see you have another slot under it, so use it. i out mine on the very bottom so it will look much better. you are so lucky that you got a removable top

yeah i can switch those up a bit, but it's still an eyesore, i might loose it altogether for now, i use my front usb mostly anyway

I decided to take it out, i'll post a pic later, right now, lookin at maybe gettin that loud psu fan switched out, but i've got like, 5 comp's to fix for friends, so It'll have to wait a little while, lol

you mean all the split loom? I was thinking about it, what i'm prob. gonna do is go get a new psu, and loom it with some sleeving and heat-shrink tubing and swap it out, but that's a bit down the road, I have alot of other stuff goin on that's keepin me from finishing with my project. And as soon as I'm done, I'm prob gonna go get my other computer and try to water cool it. lol.
