Overclockers Club has the brightly colored Thermaltake Jing CPU cooler strapped to the test bench today. For comparison purposes, you can see our evaluation here.

Well, for the Jing's size, these results kind of surprise me. I expected a little bit lower temperatures, but in reality it only performed a few degrees cooler than the average temperatures of the comparison coolers. However, for the Jing's fan design and flow rates along with their static pressure, these results turn out to be a little ordinary.
 
Anybody else notice that the fans are in a pull/pull configuration?

Of course the cooling performance is going to suck that way (pun intended).

It looks like they're in that configuration, but the Overclockers Club review says it's push/pull. If you look at both sides of the heatsink in the [H] review, the way the fan blades are angled indicates push/pull. It definitely threw me for a loop too when I first looked at it.

I'm a little disappointed that OC Club didn't include any sound level measurements in their review. It looks like this heatsink is built to be quiet while delivering decent cooling. I want to know if it was appreciably quieter than the Noctua DH14 and see if the 6* C difference at o/c'ed load is worth it. Oh well, maybe it'll show up on Frosty Tech and I'll have my answer.

Look at the pictures in their review though. From the way the blades are pitched, it looks like they have a unit that came with two "pull" fans. The [H] review of the same cooler definitely had a push and a pull fan.
 
I do recall a review a LONG time ago when tower coolers first came out someone tested all kinds of configurations and oddly the push/push configuration did very well. I have never seen this tested again so I just assume it isn't relevant today.

The push/push WITH and extra fan to pull out the hot air out the top does help a bit on the Noctua NH-D14. The other thress sides have to be taped off for the pull fan to work and the pull fan has to be shrouded.

I went back to the standard push/push-pull/pull (push on one side, push-pull in the middle, and pull on the other side) when i went to my new case since it didn't have room for my custom setup.
