ThermalTake case...HELP ME!!!

I am trying to put together a ThermalTake XaserV Damier V5000A. I can't make heads nor tails out of this goofy fan control unit up front, and the instructions manual is no help at all. Can someone help me figure this thing out?
 
I hooked it up exactly as instructed by the instructions. Thermaltake's website has better instructions but I still couldn't get the damn thing to work right so I just took it out. The front 2 rotational knobs actually work and I use them for the intake and exhaust fan.

The case looks so cool until you try using it. That is why I have mine for sale on the BST board.
