i've been searching around for pictures of the TT big Typhoon, especially on a dfi board and havent had that much luck. im really thinking of getting this hsf but im wondering what is the overall hieght of the hsf. like with the fan on it?

also can someone explain to me why it being heavy isnt a problem? bc if the backplate? ive heard something bad about the back plate with the dfi boards any ideas?

how much clearance should i have between case door and the top of the hsf for it to function properly?

I use a big typhoon on a DFI expert. It does weigh a bit, and the height is up there, but neither is that much of a problem. Off the board it probably stands 4-5 inches high to the top of the fan. The problem with the backplate on the DFI boards as well as other NF4 boards is that they are plastic and specifically on the DFI board the mounting holes are to low and the provided screws for the BT don't reach. Included with the bt is a replacement backplate system. I say system because its mutiple parts. There is a sticky pad, then some other piece and then finally a metal plate. Using this method you stick screws up from the bottom of the motherboard and then use a nut and washer to secure it on the front side after you get it through the mounting holes on the bt. All in all installation took me about 5 minutes and i couldn't be happier. My 3800+X2 @2.6ghz idles at 27c and loads out at 38c.

are you in anyway worried about the wieght put on the motherboard?

oh yea and how well does it cool the pwmic? what are those temps like?
