are the SilentCats really as silent as theyre advertised or as people say?

ive never really liked Thermaltake, so im extremely leary about buying a TT product. i need a good 80mm fan thatll move a lot of air but perform almost silently at the same time.

personal experiences would be much appreciated! thanks!

Moving a lot of air makes noise, because airflow itself creates sound. Thermaltake is notorious for making the numbers too good to be true...their fans don't live up to the numbers. However, the silentcats I've heard are still pretty silent for their airflow.

Avoid the Thermaltake.

A medium-speed Panaflo should work nicely for you. If it's still too loud, you can always undervolt it.
