I am so pissed...i wake up, turn on the comp, it turns on but nothing, absolutely nothing shows on the screen.

Didn't even hear the windows noise, so its not only the screen. At first i thought its my video card.

But now i just swapped that crappy 750w with my 4 year old antec 480w...and the computer turns right up like nothing ever happened.

What do I do now? paid like $160 for that crap from fry's 3 months ago, i think its suppose to have 3 year warranty.

Hot damn i am so pissed, never ever again i am gonna buy another Tt product, i even bought Tt case, its crap.

Wow, calm down there buddy, have you ever had a defective product before?

My first Abit board I ever bought was defective, look at the sig, still using Abit, my first Crucial Ballistix memory sticks were defective when I first bought them, look at my memory now, still using Crucial Ballistix. Shit happens.

Damn. I can understand your decision in not buying thermaltake products anymore, I would probably make that same decision if I were in your shoes.

even thought the toughpower line is supposed to be really good, i bought a toughpower 750 and after about 20 mins of gaming it stated to give me some heavy artifacting, and the rig wasnt even as good as whats in my sig now.

i just dont trust them:(

PC Power & Cooling FTW:D

Were you running the latest toughpower forceware drivers? Just curious.

I have a question for people who use it, does your PSU fan keeps running after you turn off the computer?

Because mine always did that....is it for cooling its self down after i turn off the comp

Yes

Two dead PSUs back to back, different models. Sounds like there could be an issue there other than bad power supplies. I will pass this thread along to our TT guy though.

I don't think anyone else caught that...lol.

To the OP - I had a toughpower 750w that ran 24/7 on the following:

eVGA 680i A1
E4300 @ 3.24
2x1GB PC2-8500 @ 1173 @ 2.3v @ 5-5-5-15 @2T
2x1GB WD Raptor 80GB in RAID0
WD 500GB SATA
2x eVGA 8800GTS 320MB SC Editions flashed to 665/965 w/Thermaltake TMG ND5s
TT Armor Extreme Edition, black
Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty Edition w/drive
2x Lite-On 20x Dual layer SATA DVD-R/W w/lightscribe, DVD-RAM
SIIG 9-in-1 media reader / floppy combo
DD Dual 5.25" bay res
DD TDX S775 block
DD 680i NB block
Liang DDC-2 18w pump w/Petras Top
BIX 120.1 rad
MCR-220 rad
6x 120mm AC Ryan blackfire UV/LED fans
2x Logisys Day/night 12" CCFLs

Also powered: Logitech G15/G25/G7

Never a hiccup. Sold it to trade up to modular, and an Antec 1kW TruePower Quattro.

Yes, there are some bad units. I've had DOA items, and sometimes I think I am getting the short end of the stick when something dies. The PSU you have is under warranty. If I were you (and were that pissed), I'd RMA it, and sell it upon return. Vote with your wallet, that's the only way companies find out what the customers want. Also, no one wants to read a thread where they initially think there might be an issue they can help on, only to find out that you're just bitching.

If you want help, awesome. I'd love to help. If you just want to bitch about buyers remorse, and that you got screwed...I can't help you. I think perhaps Kyle is right, and that something else is afoot in your machine.

yeah, not that it helps but my TP PSU works and has worked very well for almost 18 months. I too have products go bad that have good reps. See what KB can do and maybe you'll get another PSU via an RMA.

As stated, maybe there's another issue going on if back to back psus die on you. GL.

Can't ask for better service!

I have a Toughpower modular 750 and a Corsair HX620. 750 running a Q6600@3.5, and the 620 powering a Xeon 3060@3.4. Both run 24/7 drama-free.

Oh cool

I will email you, thanks.

I swear I get little butterflies in me stomach when reps serve their customers like this. Really does make a difference.

yep. just like when kyle helped me get someone from BFG to read my post. It helped out alot.

I have read some references to the Toughpower 750watt as being the one that is being discussed. i believe the Toughpower product lineup comes with a 3 year warranty. I will have to dig out my docs, but I'm almost certain it is 3 years.

I have had my Tt 750watt PSU for about 2 years now, still going strong, I think you were just unlucky and yeah shit happens.

Woohoo....I cam home to this today :D

Thanks a lot Jeremy

I sent out my dead PSU on Monday and get Brand new one on Thursday.

You should consider putting that on a UPS or something. Two power supplies dead, kinda suspicious.
