i was gonna get this for my x2 3800+ setup, but it seems that almost everyone doesn't carry it anymore. Anyone have any suggestions of better heatsinks or heatsink fans? I want cool and quiet, i was gonna use a 120mm silenx fan on the xp-120
 
Look on www.jab-tech.com. They've got the SI-120 which is a slimmed down version of the XP-120. That'll do the job nicely. You may want to consider the XP-90, but then you're stuck with a slightly louder 92mm fan.
 
The 90 cools a couple degrees celcius warmer than the 120. Not a big difference, but if you wan't the best... you know the rest.
 
sorry, i meant the xp vs the si both 120 versions. I understand that they 90 is not as good, but i'm wondering if the si-120 is as good as the xp-120

i was also thinking about the zalman cnps9500, but i have no idea when that thing is coming out
 
A couple weeks and the CNPS9500 will ship. That thing looks very impressive if you can fit it in your case. :)
 
i will for sure be measuring it tonight. both the msi and asus boards i'm looking at are compatible, so the only thing i have to look at is for the 135mm from the mobo to the side of the case and the 56mm from the center of the cpu to the power supply.

don't know how i'll measure the last one until i have the actual mobo though.

CNPS9500's arent that big and i dont see how it wouldnt fit in one's case unless u were using a SFF; there are many more larger heatsinks that are out

um no they arent that big unless ur refering to the prototype in the middle, but yeea there are alot of other heatsinks that are larger than the CNPS9500, ie Tt Sonic Tower, Tt Big Typhoon, Cooler Master Hyper 6, Cooler Master Hyper 6+, Scythe Ninja, etc
