I got this today from heatsinkfactory. Just thought I'd post some pics and results.

This is the clip

This is how the clip fits on the bottom of the heatsink.

And, that's the shim

Now performance? Well, it's awesome. I was running a volcano 12 before this. I had temps around 43-45 idle and 50+ load. Now temps are at 37-38 idle and 45 load. I'm gonna try hanging the fan on the bottom sometime. Will be an interesting test. :) Enjoy the pics.

Man that thing is pretty...I was not aware that it used a complete heatpipe, before I thought that it was just a big aluminum heatsink. Now, if only they made that thing in copper, the world would be perfect

THe SI-97 looks like it has a ridiculously low amount of surface area to dissipate heat with, but the temperature results suggest otherwise. It weighs so little, so I'll forgive the clips.

I like what you had to do with your Swiftech NB heatsink fan... it doesn't fit on top?

yea, when I got it I was like...this base...is....small...but I put it in and it gives me results like this. Right now I'm running @ 1.85 real volts (1.9 in bios). 47idle and load is 53-54. I'm impressed because I'm using only a 50CFM fan. Oh yea, and I turned it on yesterday while the heatsink was cold. I put my hand on the pipes to see how fast they warm up. And really, it's within seconds...the heat transfer is really fast, so I guess that's why it works.

Thanks, and yea, the swiftech is too tall. So I twistie tied it on the side. A7N8X people won't have a problem I believe cuz they're farther apart. If the NB and CPU socket had just been like 1-2cm farther, it would have fit

The heatpipes warm up within seconds? I gotta test that with my SP-97.

Oh, and clean up your wiring :p

Sweet isn't it? And it gets better. My idle temps improved by 3C!! 1.85 REAL volts with 44C idle!!!! :) Makes me so happy. :) Load temps? Improved by 4-5C! 49 - 50C as opposed to 54-55C load. :) :) Makes me even happier. This thing is too amazing...

That is awesome. Have you tried lapping off the nickel plating, I've heard thats helped out people with the xp-90's pretty significantly. It will only help if theres a copper core, ane maybe theres not in the si's, I dont know much about them. I would love to see a comparison between that and the xp-120 though.

How about a fan on the bottom only? How large of a fan can you fit on there, and what are the temps?
