I'm looking at buying a Thermalright HR-05 IFX to cool the southbridge on my Asus Blitz Formula, but I'm not sure if I should get the SLI version. I want it to be compatible with two dual slot cards(such as the HD3870 X2) in crossfire if I decide to go that route. It -looks- to me that the SLI version wouldn't fit properly with two cards on my board, but I can't be sure. Does anyone know which I should get?

Also, because I'm removing the heatpipes from my board, I also have to cool the smaller Crosslinx chip with something. Does anyone know of a low profile(10mm or so) heatsink that's 25-31mm long on each side? It doesn't need any mounting holes or anything, as I'll be super gluing the corners(the board only has one mounting hole for the Crosslinx). I have this one right now, but I think it might be just a little too high.

I never looked into the HR-05 IFX but I can say for certain that the thermalright HR-05 SLI cooler retention bracket leaves much to be desired. It's a single diagnal cross bar with a spring on each end and a notch in the middle. It's very wobbley on my northbridge.

The IFX has a new retention design that they say is much more reliable and stable, so I'm not worried about that.

Still wondering about the compatibility.

Another bump... if no one knows, I suppose I'll have to take a guess.
