Thermalright and Arctic Cooling

Hi guys, this is my first post here! I need a little help with this cooler! For my new cpu (q6600) I would like to buy an Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 but I need to know if I can mount it on my motherboard (asus p5n7a-vm). On gpu I have mounted Thermalright HR - 05/IFX but I don't know if there is enough space for each of two. thanks, bye!!

Well I cannot help you in particular, but I will give you a bump and say welcome.

Quite honestly it will more then likely fit fine. The days of grinding down things to fit a bigger heatsink are mostly over in the enthusiast market. Looking at an image of your board, it looks like it would fit fine.

I'm a little confused by your question. There are three potential issues I see.

1. If the cooler was the wrong socket type, which is not the case--the board is 775 and the cooler is 775 compatible. You can see this on the spec sheets of both the motherboard and the cooler at almost any online retailing source of either item.

2. If the cooler interfered with the tops of your memory sticks. This may well be an issue, depending on the height of your RAM heatsinks, and which direction you're planning to mount the cooler in.

3. If the heatsink on your GPU is mounted on the processor's side of the GPU, then yes, it could interfere with this type of CPU cooler, again depending on the orientation of both heatsinks.

would you care to draw a picture in mspaint or something indicating how you've configured the GPU heatsink, or at the very least describe it more specifically?

You should be able to fit it, but I'd wait for another opinion or two--I've never owned any of the componenets in question and do not know how many directions the cooler can be mounted. It's definitely going to be a tight fit, lol.

Cooler dimensions if you don't already have them: 123 L x 96 W x 130 H mm, but I'm not sure if that includes the fan.
