Thermal paste on an Opteron

Hey all,

I am saving towards building a 4p Opteron rig, and had some questions regarding the thermal paste:

1. Are there more effective options than AS5 available for cooling in this context? I have almost never used anything else than AS, but due to the scope of this project I want to get the best I can. If it is long-lifed, that would be a huge plus.

2. Since Opteron chips are rectangles rather than squares, how do I do the application in the best way? two 3/4 rice grains evenly spaced? The AS homepage suggests the same single dot procedure that goes for square chips, but won't that cause the short ends of the chip to not be covered effectively?

Thanks for any and all replies!
