Thermal paste, dumb question, GO!

All I need to complete my i7 setup is my case and a silly tube of thermal compound. However, I'm not going to overlook the importance of good thermal compound. I'm traditionally an Arctic Silver user. What paste/compound are you using and why? What do I get!? GO!
 
I'd go with IC Diamond 7. Currently one of the best pastes on the market, plus it's non-conductive.
Diamond 20 is the absolute best, however it's much more expensive.
IC 7 is about $10/tube. Worth it, IMO.
 
I can't find squat about the IC Diamond paste. Just bits and pieces of information from 2007.
 
Really doesn't make a meaningful difference. The best improvement you'll get is a couple of degrees, which doesn't mean all that much to modern CPUs. I personally use Arctic Cooling MX-2, but AS5, Tuniq TX-2, IC Diamond 7, and OCZ Freeze are also just about equally good.
 
Arctic Silver 5, always have, always will.:p

Except on chipset heatsinks, then Arctic Ceramique.
 
Started using MX-2 about a year ago and haven't touched my Arctic Silver 5 since.
 
The difference between most name brand products (i.e., the "popular" ones) is rather small, so it doesn't really matter.
