Thermal Paste cleaning, is alcohool important??

Hey Guys, I just got ym Noctua D-14, right now... I have cleaned the paste with kleeenx, everything seem fine but then i read that to completly clean ti, you need alclhool, which I don't have right now.

So is it really important to wait tomorrow to clean it with alcohool or applying the paste from noctua and installing it right now, while the cpu chip seem pretty clean all good?

Thank in advance, just finished my build and can't wait to finish assembling it!

Clean it properly as leftover thermal compound may not perform properly.

Why can't you grab some isopropyl alcohol today? Virtually all grocery and convenience stores sell 91% alcohol nowadays.

Isopropyl alcohol just makes cleaning easier and safer since it evaporates quickly. As long as it looks clean, you're good. Cleaning off the residue that you probably can't see will probably shave off like 1*C from the temps; if that.
