no comp stores in my area sell thermal adhesives, in the description it just looks like all it is is artic silver mixed with some kinda glue. does anyone know of some adhesive i could buy at a hardware store and use or mix with artic silver and use to attach ramsinks safely?

Apply arctic silver to the middle and dab super glue to the corners.

Last time I replaced my stock CPU cooler, it didn't need any friggin' superglue. CPU ripped out without letting me unlock the ZIF lever. Stuck to the bottom of the heat sink, used an exacto knife to remove it.

That's probably the best way to do it. Non-permanent (yet a good bond) and the thermal conductivity should be higher than just thermal adhesive.

Really?! You guys just put glue on them? What about electric conductivity of the glue? Won't that wreck the chip?

Electric conductivity of the glue? Huh? The heatsink itself is electrically conductive, but that doesn't pose a problem. I don't see your point.
