Hi all,
I have an older AM2 based motherboard (ABIT AN9-32X) where the plastic mount "ears" for the heatsink have sheared off on one side. I'm just using a stock heatsink without too much weight to it, and I'm thinking I'll probably never replace the 4600+ currently mounted on the board.

To get around the broken side of the mount, I was thinking of just gluing the stock heatsink to the the processor using thermal adhesive. I noticed that Arctic Silver doesn't say the product is for CPUs, but I'll probably never need to pull it again. Is there any reason I can't just attach it permanently as a mounting solution?
