Which theremal paste can provide BEST cooling solution for 3770K with Corsair H80? I know 4 yrs back when I purchased my current signature rig Arctic Silver AS3 was considered best. But things has changed so which thermal paste is best in today's industry?

Please realize when you are reading all of this that the way you apply the thermal paste makes as much of a difference as the type that you use. A good application of AS5 (or AS3 since that's what you have) will work just as well as a bad application of Prolimatech PK-1.

Also, the overall difference between the best paste and "good" paste is maybe 1* or 2*. It won't make or break your overclocks either way.

Thank you. Although I didn't get much time to read the links provided in your first reply. But it seems to me is that Artic Silver 5 is the best option.
 
I have been building machines for years and it really doesn't make any real world difference. some last longer than others some are easier to apply. I have used the plain old silicone thermal past for years and have had good temps. I have tried others and they work as well. But any thermal paste don't work good it the surface is wavy.If you are an exreeme overclocker trying too get one degree difference maybe it makes a difference the average user it won't make a hill of beans difference.

OP, if your main goal is to just have some relatively modern paste so that you know you are getting good performance and you want the peace of mind of not using 10 year old paste, get this.

MX-2 is solidly in the middle of the pack in the roundup that I linked. The price is very good for this level of performance. And from judging what your current paste is it should last you another 10 years. :) EDIT one other thing Arctic Silver 5 conducts electricity so if it get onto the PCB it can short-circuit your components. More modern pastes such as Arctic Silver Ceramique and Arctic MX-2 do not have this problem. Of course as long as you apply the paste correctly nothing bad will happen so it's not a deal-breaker by any means.
