3gb cards tend to see a benefit in higher ( > 1080p) resolutions with AA.

So the 660 TI 2GB should be sufficient? going for a total overhaul right now. Running a Q6600, 8800GTS, and 4Gb of DDR2. I'm somewhat expecting a big jump in performance.

But yea, the 2GB version of the 660 TI should be ok then.

yes 2gb is fine as the card is not fast enough to play games at settings that will utilize more than 2gb. your cpu is really going to hold back a gtx660ti big time. in more cpu intensive games you will likely not even get much more than 60-70% of what a gtx660ti is capable of. if you are not going to oc that cpu then I would just go with a plain gtx660.

and what resolution are you going to be playing at?
 
Hrm. Well, not sure on the resolution just yet. I mean, I've been playing 1920x1080 for the past five years. So I guess that? =P
 
Guildwars 2 rarely uses anythinh over 800mb. At 2560x1600 max everything

Most ive ever seen was 1.2gig usage at one part of the lost shore event
 
Even if you plan to run games at resolutions higher than 1080p a 660ti`s GPU would not suffice to get frame rates > than 40 so imo that 3 GB frame buffer is pointless unless you run bandwidth hogging games at 1080p. Frankly a 660ti will not give you an ideal experience at anything greater than 1080p, But that is just me.. I consider anything < 45 fps unplayable no matter the game....
