Hi all,
I have gotten a reoccuring problem with Warcraft III ever since I got my MSI 6600 GT. I'll be playing warcraft and have it crash in the middle of the game with a "access_violation" of some sort. Apparantly this is a fairly common issue, after I googled it. However, it sounds like there could be numerous factors causing it. I am getting some failures when I run Microsoft Memory Diagnostic in extended mode (test 11, ERAND I believe.) It's crucial ballistix RAM, so it's under warranty and all... but considering how many people I've heard with this problem, I wonder if it's a NVIDIA driver thing.
System Specs:
ABIT NF7-S rev 2
Athlon XP 3200 Barton
2x512 MB Crucial Ballistix DDR400
MSI 6600 GT
Maxtor Maxline III 300 GB SATA HD
Western Digital 120 GB Special Edition EIDE
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro
Pioneer 16x DVD-RW
Lite-On 52x CD-RW/16x DVD-ROM
floopy
Klipsch 5.1 ProMedias (rev 3)
HP L2335 23" widescreen LCD
ViewSonic GS790 (19" CRT)
450 watt OCZ Modstream
Windows Media Center 2005
I'm running my LCD at 1920x1200 and the CRT at 1280x1024 normally. For Warcraft III, I run it at 1600x1200 or lower.
