I have seen the Accell (B101B-003B) displayport to vga used at Fry's and no porblems at 1680*1050. Could not even tell the difference between it and the DVI output on the other 2 monitors. I will be setting it up on my own 1920*1200 machine this coming week.

I've been using the Sapphire adapter since launch.

maybe the manufacturers have to pay for the list or give ATI their device, and ATI takes some time to test and certify it on their millions of products

Sapphire probably did not make the dongle themselves but bought it from a validated supplier and if it is branded Sapphire they had them manufacture it as such. Much like reference design cards. Made in the same place but with different stickers put on them.

I use this one. It's VGA and not DVI, but I don't game at over 1920x1200x3 and can't even tell the difference once my monitor auto-calibrates it at startup. And the price was only $32 shipped, compared to over $100 for a DP->DVI active adapter.

Seconded. I'm using the same Sapphire DP->VGA dongle and it works without a hitch at 1600x1200x3.

When I was using a 5870 I used the sapphire vga to displayport which worked flawlessly on my 3-1920 x 1200 (5760 x 1200) setup. Hell I have it right now just laying around with my unused 5870...hmmm!
