I just received all my parts for my new computer from new egg. I assembled it and pushed the power button it came on and I went into the BIOS. I was looking around at the settings when my computer just powered off. I pushed the power button to turn it back on and nothing happened. I looked inside the case as I flipped the PSU switch and the green power light just flashed for a sec then went back off. I tried it again and the light didn’t even flash nor fans spinnign or anything. Could you shed some light on my problem? I am thinking it is the PSU.

My Specs:
AMD 4400+
Asus A8n Premium
2 gig Corsair XMS PC3200c2
1x BFG 7800GTXOC
PC Power and Cooling 510 Turbo Cooling SLI

Reset the BIOS VIA the jumper or take the battery out for 30 seconds. Take the power cable out for 30 seconds. Make sure the heatsink is properly seated and making contact with the CPU. I doubt your having a power issue but its always good to test with another psu just to make sure. Try one stick of ram at a time and try different slots....etc

ill try to take the battery out for a while and see if that helps first. thanks again

reset the bios, then make sure your CPU heatsink is seated properly. it may be turning off due to a dead battery (easy fix, just buy a new one from radio shack),, or the HSF isnt seated correctly, causing the mobo to shut off to avoid burning your CPU out. also make sure all your power connections are solid and that your chipset heatsink/fan are working.

if you didnt take of your heatsink yet and you do manage to get into the bios go check you cpu temp. If its like anything higher than 60deg shut down right away you know bad contact with cpu.
