So I have finally decided to kiss windows good bye; I have wanted to do this for some time now but have never gotten around to it. I just have a couple of quesitons before I make the switch. Is it possible to play steam (counterstrike 1.6) on ubuntu or any other distro? Is it possible to play warcraft 3 on any distro? and of course, which distro would be the best? Those are the only games I am going to want to play... Other than those two games the PC will be used for word proccessing and graphics.

I never did Counter-Strike in Ubuntu, but I did successfully get Steam installed and had HL2 running. Not sure about Warcraft though.

I run Warcraft3 on a Ubuntu powered Acer 3680 laptop through WINE. Runs great exept it did take some messing around to get the cut scenes to work. There's a great group of people on the Ubuntu support forum, and if you just search for the title of the game you can usually find the answer your looking for,
