Hi yall,
I have been following the woes of people on a few different forums who were trying to get their SLI rigs to work on widescreen monitors. Here's a quick rundown of problems I share with most people...
My sys:
Dell 2405FPW 24" widescreen
Athlon fx-55
gigabyte 6800 ultras x 2 in SLI
asus a8n sli deluxe
2gigs corsair
* in 1920x1200, window's desktop displays thin gray bar at top of screen. If I run with A)no sli B)a resolution lower than 1920x1200 or C)run the app full screen, then the bar disppears
* When running games (hl2, doom3, painkiller) at 1920x1200 SLI (single card 1920x1200 is fine) screen gets extremely jittery
There's one thing that I haven't seen anybody mention though. When I run Far Cry at 1920x1200 in SLI mode it runs fine. So wtf I said. What's different about this game? Come to find out that Far Cry is one of the only games that runs SLI in SFR (Split Frame Rendering) mode as opposed to AFR (Alternate Frame Rendering) mode.
So is there a way to force the drivers or change the game's profile to use SFR instead of AFR. I'd like to give it a shot and see if it works for hl2 etc.
