I have a Core2 6700 I'm looking to overclock as far as possible will maintaining absolute silence. I'm a noob poster, but no stranger to the OC. I was here before there was the [H]. :) My first OC was a Celeron 366 @ 550, with pelts and air-cooling, but it was way too loud. I want the max speed while maintaining (near) absolute silence with a minimum footprint. To be used for occasional gaming, DVD burning, and such.I have some questions regarding the best components to use, and I'm always open to new ideas.

Mobo: Is the 680i worth the bling? I want maximum FSB and couple RAID SATA drives, possibly SLI in the future.

Cooling- Gotta be WC, and I've still got some pelts (worth it?) around. Should I cool the chipsets with water or phase-change? I also thought a big radiator with a large, slow fan (remotely mounted?) would work best....But I haven't done any water-cooling since I used a heater core, fish tank pump, and homemade copper water blocks. Suggestions on commercial blocks or systems welcome.

Anyway, it's a start. I want to get these parts on order this week so I can test the case/cooling system. In the meantime I'll be looking into memory and video cards, so feel free to point me down the right path. I don't mind spending money on good memory, and I'd like to keep the video card in the $200 range, with an eye to SLI when the price drops to $100...

Thanks,
