SETI, or the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, is a scientific effort seeking to determine if there is intelligent life outside Earth. SETI researchers use many methods. One popular method, radio SETI, listens for artificial radio signals coming from other stars. SETI@home is a radio SETI project that lets anyone with a computer and an Internet connection participate.

This program runs in the background of your computer using unused/wasted cpu time to crunch there data, plus it makes a really cool screensaver. I like it because when peaple walk into my room and the screen saver is on it looks like my computers doing somthing important. lol
This is what the screensaver view of the running program looks like: http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/screensaver/index.html

If anybody would like to download this program and add to my account just when asked by the program for you email address, put in kyle@sympatico.com and this will add to my ranking on the seti site. The number of data units you complete gives you a ranking and the more i do the higher the ranking. You can check up on "my" or "our" rating by going to this link: http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/individual.html and entering kyle@sympatico.com under the Individual User Statistics Email address bar.

If there any questions about the program heres the link:http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/learnmore.html

I Would love the help growing my User Statistics and it sure makes a cool screen saver. Some say its extreamly nerdy and stupid but to each his own i just think its cool that the computer is doing somthing useful when your not using it and like i said, its sure a cool screensaver.
