Alright, i dont really know much about monitors in general, i use a random crt that i happen to come across, something like 13"

Anywho, what i am looking for is a flatscreen with decent quality about 9-12" that is as thin as can be. Dont know if they make them to my specifications, but its for a special project.

- hacking a laptop display would be OK aslong as the probability of working is 100%

Thanks everyone, directions to selections of flatscreens would be great too.

Can't give you too much help, except in letting you know that you can be about 95% sure that using a pre-existent laptop LCD is going to wind up costing you well over $300 in extra parts.
Best of luck with your searches

you can get 14.1" LCD monitors for real cheap. but thats about the smallest retail monitor you can get.

what purpose are you using this LCD for?

14.1" sounds fair enough, where could i grab one? checked out new egg and such, but am unsure which is suitable.

Making a amazingly portable desktop PC... In a backpack ! Woo.

Well basically an acrylic case frame built for backpack use with included powerstrip and peripheals + monitor.
