Im building a large centralized water-cooler and I could REALLY use some input on it. Because of all the pics I cant post the design in its entirety here but you can find it and all the pics here.

This is my first WC project and im going kind of overkill.

what *are* you cooling? i hope this thing will have a room for itself, 'cause those 7" fans will make some noise, i tell ya...

nice and solid planning. i would, however, pick up some acrylic epoxy instead of that 3m stuff - search for "acrylic cement" on www.mcmaster.com and look at "high-viscousity cement for acrylics", item number 7515A11. this stuff dries very clear, and is *very* strong.
 
Do you think it will have any problem bonding the acrylic to the polycarbonate?

This thing is large, estimate it will be a little over 3ft tall when done. As for fan noise thats why I have the rheostats :D These things push nearly 300CFM, ill take them down to a 1/3 of that most likely. I got them bevause I wanted them huge (aestetics/darwinism test).

Also, im sort of worried the pressure might blow my heater cores.
 
Also its being built to cool 4 computers, one with pelts and 3 with just CPU blocks.
 
if the tubes and "circles" are the same plastic...im tired rightnow but from what im seeing they are both the same...just go get some Weld-On best fuckin acrylics glues on the planet !

on a side note all plastics, polycarb,lexan etc are acrylics :p

Ah ok, I really wasnt aware of material differences.

I'll be taking pics of everything possible, ill be doing a writeup/guide for submission to anyone wanting to host it.
 
what year model of Ford F-250 are those heatercores?
what are the dimensions for them?
 
Think they are 89's made of copper. Lemme measure real quick

9" wide, 7" tall, 2" thick

Also might want to refresh that page if you look at it again, added a new base diagram.
 
Hmm maybe you would want to go with 2 pumps in series as it will increase the total pump head which you'll need going through the 3 heatercores
 
holy crap... those heatercores are huge. how much were they?

i may get one if they're cheap enough... just for cool factor... along with 8x 120mm fans or something:D
 
Dude that looks awesome.

Since your going all crzay you mihgt want to see if you can find a water fountain like a wall mounted one at a office liquidation sale or something to chill the water instead of using the heater cores. or in conjunction with them. saw a guy picked one up for under 50 bucks at one of those sales.

just some thoughts.
 
yeah that would work but that would take all of the fun out of canabalizing a water fountain ;)

Since you put it that way... :p I'm just gonna have to find an old water fountain now. :p

God, I can see the horrified expression on my mom's face as she walks in to see me sitting on the floor with bits and pieces of a water fountain laying around me. :p

ooooh, ooh... Make it even 1337er. Have a waterfountain powered watercooling setup that you can drink out of as well. ;)

Whooookay.

I was sucking on a ice pack filled with antifreeze when I was about 6. The damn thing ruptured in my mouth. It was the most disgusting thing I ever tasted in my life.

Although, I mean that you could use the water fountain to cool your water loop going to the waterblocks in the PC's and leave it functional as an actual water fountain as well. You wouldn't be drinking the fluid that flows through the water loop to the blocks and PC. :p

I'm no expert but I think by routing your hoses in a slightly different manner you will get better flow, less back pressure and better cooling.

All the inputs are straight from cooled coolant not after going through a heat source. It will take a little more hose but ?? well you be the judge.

This way your manifolds
have
(1 ) 3/4 in and (3) x 5/8 out
(3) x 5/8 in (3) x 5/8 out
(3) x 5/8 in (1) 3/4 out

Another way would be to use the same size hose through out, 5/8 is the size on your radiators.

Does using more then 1 heatercore have an advantage over two or more except for the fact you can cool more water? Like it won't make it cooler will it?
