Lets have a little rant and rave for the day.

Todays rant..200 computers I cant borg (all p4 3ghz.)
Todays rave..linux will be my new os of choice for f@h

also. im not going to bid on any of those ebay ones since it seems like there
are a few people bidding against each other...
 
Work sucks... can't borg any (more) PCs here...
Girlfriend's PC is only a PII-450... and doesn't have a reliable internet connection
Don't have enough money to build a farm...
Did I mention that work sucks?? I hate correcting plans....
Must... borg... more....

My rant and rave is the fact that I really want to go nuts with folding and I can't. I don't have the cash to build a farm. I do have 4 computers to setup for folding but 3 of them are PII 350's and the other is a PI 133. So, no matter what I do there is not much performance to be had. Dang it!!!!
 
You guys have already stolen the good ones... too many work PC's that are sitting idle, the sheer fact that I am at work.... but here's something new... the flu blows, and its twice as bad when you have the flu and are at work!

But on the rave side of things, how odd is a completely offtopic topic actually being on topic (oh no... I've gone crosseyed)! and finally dayquill is good!

Dating? What is this dating you speak of? I found a lady, married her, and that was the end of it, there was none of this dating! :p

 
I read through that early this morning... and I must say... "This thread is worthless without pics!!" :D

Anyone know of a decent house for under $100k in North-Central WV?? Some of the utter crap these realtors try to pass off as "A great buy!!" for $150k...... it's just sad.....

Me and the Mrs. did a little folding of our oen last night... that's my rave. :)
As for the rant.... ummmm...... Human Resource departments suck. I don't know why... they just do. Not too much to rant about as I'm still in the afterglow. :D

CS classes are overrated. :p I only took two of em in 4 years at 3 different schools! And I didn't need a club, my wife just didn't enjoy the dating bit. If you wanna get technical a date was sitting around her dorm room watching movies and eating ramen noodles.

Believe it or not, I actually still have some packs of ramen lying around from back then. 4+ years old, I imagine its probably still good. ;) Now if I could just convince the wife that she should come hang in here during the day my life would be complete! She doesn't believe me when I tell her there's a bunch of others cut from the same cloth. :(

...whenever I sell something on ebay every deadbeat shows up to bid at the last minute.. and ebay had not blocked a bidder yet.. (a -5 bidder won my last auction.. dispite me having the "nobody -1 or lower" box checked... I double checked ... grrr ) ... less money for new boxen as a result.

... I'm digging through some old parts bins this weekend.. which should give my 2500+ a new home.. and likely a borg or two for another couple p3 ghz. ..I got to sleep in until 10am today..most days I have to be up by 8am.

yup.. you'll notice I have ALOT of active CPUs though I only have two systems that I own.. I went to UofO :D .. a couple years ago though.. (notice how slowly most of them turn in WU)... Dating for a Cure is GREAT.

May I suggest you get them to pay for the drinks.. once you're married that sort of loses its point... but it is WONDERFUL and I encourage you all to find the right one... they are even better than shamerock shakes. :D

EDIT: an alpine CD w/ XM is the latest... model CDA-7892 if anybody wants it. I haven't relisted it yet.

I have a friend that has a relatively new Dell... she won't run F@H... can't convince her to, no matter what I do... (and don't say anything about taking her to bed... I wouldn't touch her with a ten foot pole.... not to mention that I already have a soon-to-be fiancee :D )

Of course, my neighbor here at work is getting a brand new Dell as I type... can't fold on it either... dammit...

:D Good news today! I got my raise!! (I've just been waiting on paperwork, damn state jobs)... so that's 5% more than I was making last month.... not much, but still :D

away from x... money goes back to computers ^_^

Ahhh one of my state employed bretheren, must be nice getting a raise, we get increases, occasionally, like once every couple of years, it sucks.

We're saving... now that has an all too familiar ring to it. I think in the last year alone due to raises and stuff, we've moved to a bigger place, got a new car, and increased our bills by about 50%. All that money I could have used on boxen.... :(

150K is a great buy here in juneau, Alaska. hell for 350K you can get a Half a house on a 1/4 of a acre. When I say half a house I mean it is a duplex that you would rent out but they sell each side. One is painted purple the other is white. I dont get how people could live like that :confused:
 
This was one of my (very few) guaranteed raises... I get 5% when I have 2 years experience... then a 15% when I pass the PE test... after that, it's "Merit" raises... and the occasional cost of living raise....

I refuse to pay $90k for a 2 bdrm house that has questionable structural integrity, a questionable plumbing system, non-grounded outlets, on 1/3 of an acre in rural WV, let alone is asbestos laden......................

Hey at least you have merit positions. Everything for me is non-merit, thats why beyond the initial brown-nosing, I don't get too motivated. It sucks, as theres alot of things people here could do to make things better, but there isn't the extra incentive. Actually it's alot like "Office Space" you just do enough not to get fired.
