I plan on it once I get some word as to my standing in the [H]ard|Bowl (which isn't looking up). In preparation, I've also ziptie'd a second fan to help cool my BH-died G.Skills, since we know how much they love voltage and air cooling. :) I'm really looking foward to raping them with 3.4v+ to see what they do. And yes, I'm a picture whore.

VERY nice...it kicks a$$ to see that everything's working for you, and I can't wait to see you clear the 3GHz barrier. I'm still watching this, so don't worry bro, I'll be here to chime in with my .02 if needed if things don't quite go your way. :)

Well, I pulled up my dress and took some cycle time to test the CPU on water, and let me tell you, I absolutely LOVE water. 38C is like a wall this CPU has one hell of a time breaking. With 1.45v set in BIOS, 3GHz was Prime-stable for 8 minutes before it errored, so with more voltage I'm sure we can stablize the 3GHz mark. Reguardless, I can bench this thing at 3GHz and beyond, without a doubt. So far, 1.4v crapped out around 2975MHz, so I'm trying 2.95GHz because I just want some added speed to make up for lost time on the folding this week. Fighting off the mental "You can hold 3GHz" challenge is a fight, but so far I'm holding out. But don't worry, I'm going to take this to 3GHz for sure. I just gave the memory 2.8v to make sure it's stable, but I might even be able to sneak by on 2.7v....I'll raies the divider later I think and put some more BH-power behind this Opteron.

Stay tuned.

see now i know for SURE ive got something fudging up my setup. cuz 1.45 is pretty cool for me and then i hot this wall in between 280x10 and 290x10 that cant be passed even up to 1.6v which means its obvious something else is holding me back. YET, keeping the ram near stock didnt seeeeeeem to fix it.

ima either get lucky or get smart but i know this cpu with the new mobo and psu support can do it. just like yours.

not always the case. i had a DFI board that would not go beyond 200 MHz no matter what.

yeah, yeah.....everyone points to every other conceivable cause for it, because DFI boards usually OC really well, but i'm now cruising along at 255 MHz FSB without a problem getting here of staying stable: same memory and PSU.

Nice bro, very nice.

I'm rootin' for ya...here's to you breaking/stablizing 3GHz.

Got bored the other day and went for a screenshot. Not too shabby. ;)

Gives me hopes of 3.1GHz, but 3GHz is definately possible. What's also nice is with the 150MHz divider, @ 334x9 I'm at 3GHz with DDR500, and my memory has no problem doing that.

Definately sold on water now. ;) This opteron definately gives this water a run for it's money, as with 1.5v it loads in the mid 40s, which reminds me with with 1.4v how it went to the 50s on air. I'll post again once I finalize my clocks.

Come on man, give the HTT a bump of 1 or 2...SS's at speeds like 2,997MHz always irritated me, SOOO close. :D

That was for Eclipse's Christmas Challenge, actually...so it had to be under 3GHz, hense the clock speed. If you look up, you can see my CPU-Z screenshot of 3.26GHz. ;) I can post up a screenshot of 3GHz later if you want though.
