NZXT, makers of such cases as the Nemesis Elite and Trinity, have revealed their new case design, the "Lexa". Apparently, its oddly-shaped curves are supposed to be attractive. Personally, I find them absolutely hideous and bulky-looking while I do like the little temperature display on the top and the cooling setup they've got going.

What do you think of it?

I just don't like obnoxiously flashy cases, period. Give me simple, classy and functional, or give me death. :)

I have to say it's unique.. I like the cooling on it, and the curves arn't all that bad. At least it doesn't glowing eyes and teeth.

I really dont see anything special about the cooling on the case...nothing to write home about at least.

I dont like the looks of the case that much, but it is a step in the right direction over some of their other cases. K-I-S-S should be the mantra that all case designers go by. Keep the looks simple, keep the installation simple, keep the manufacturing simple....etc. Do all that and you will make not only your customers but your bottom line happy as well.

k I'm really getting tired of the use of macro shots (or in this case just cropped shots) as their promo shots. People do macro's in their worklogs too on such boring mods. If the entire case doesn't look pretty, dont try to hide it by taking close up shots at specific angles...... you know?

Obviously because of the pics at the bottom they could show you high res shots too but they'd rather show you really tiny ones instead? wtf?

Definitely a step up from their line of "Power Rangers" series cases. I seriously can't stand them. Thumbs up on this one, though.

I don't actually like it, but its not absolutely terrible.

NZXT has been very good for me so far...i have the trinity and lemme say, its exactly as they say it is 'Just Sexy' :D
regarding the lexa...the curves are just ugly imo...kinda looks like thr trinity with better cooling and some added cruves
if i ahd the choice btween the 2, i wud go for the Trinity over the Lexa

Thats the 1st case they have ever made that doesnt scare the kids on halloween.

one of my work mates has ordered one and its coming tomorrow so I post a short review for you, and I have very high standards!

The insides remind me of some of the lower-end Coolermaster cases. This isn't a bad thing. I'm sure they got huge negative publicity from their old "guardian" cases. This looks much cleaner, but still doesn't really get my approval.

Eh ... Personally I find that case somewhat repulsive, but if someone wants to buy it all the power to them. For me, I like the simple sleek case (bling is alright) but shaping the case like this or the "bug eye" cases just get to me

Form < Function

Therefore:

NZXT < CoolerMaster*, etc**

*cases may include, but are not limited to: centurion I, III, IV, V, 531; wavemaster, Stacker I, II, III; Cavalier I, II, IV; Praetorian; CM Ammo, CM Media I, II

**yes, even 'sigh' lian-li

:D

Definitely seen worse--looks like someone started abusing a wide-angle lens.

I would like to add that it is, by far, their best looking case. :p

All bling and no zing.

If people want to go designer on case exteriors, I wish they'd consult somebody competent who is up to speed.

I kinda like it. I'd pick one up if the price was sub $100. Looking at the interior build quality of the case, the current pricing is too steep IMO.

Mine will go to the for sale forums after review. If anyone is interested, the price will be around $100, so keep an eye on the fs forum here or PM me in a week or so.

EDIT* Selling price has just went up.

I bought one last week, and to be honest I'm more impressed then I was from looking at pictures and reading reviews. The case is extremely light but at the same time well built and sturdy, no removable MB tray :( but very easy to work with and plenty of places to hide wires. I would recommend that you choose a nice looking a PS or mod one yourself, otherwise it will take away from the looks. The 3x120mm and 1x80mm fan give it plenty of air movement. I have 2x250GB SATA, and 2x7800GT video cards, with a 4400+ X2, everything runs very cool, and the noise is considerable quiet, the case is on my desk, ~2 ft away from me and it does not bother me at all....

Having this much hardware, silent just not going to happen :)

It isn't something I would buy, but it does have a certain appeal.
It's not a bad looking case...

And besides, anything that's not a beige box is good.

i just saw this case in person, i was very impressed

roomy and good cooling system

That chrome is really not doing it for me. I'll stick to my P180. Form follows function.

It's not bad, definately a huge step up from their other completely ridiculous-looking cases. I doubt the construction quality is up to par, however.
